Dr. Derek Hayton, DO
Comprehensive Primary Care
Board Certified · Fellowship Trained
Dr. Hayton has practiced medicine in Idaho since 2014 across settings that most primary care physicians never see: years as a hospitalist managing acutely ill patients, time in the ICU, and outpatient clinic work. He is fellowship-trained and dual board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has also trained physicians at the fellowship level and served as a curriculum director in graduate medical education.
That depth is what he brings to primary care. When your cardiologist and your endocrinologist aren't talking to each other — when your medication list has grown longer than your visit — when you leave appointments with more questions than answers — that is exactly the kind of complexity this practice is built to manage.
After years working inside large institutions, he is opening Hayton Primary Care to practice medicine on his own terms — with enough time to actually know his patients, and without the pressure to rush through what matters most.
